How I managed my social media accounts in 2021
Keeping several social media accounts up to date can take over your working day. When I was doing that work, I wanted one place to plan posts, make graphics and keep track of what needed attention.

What I meant by a social media portfolio
In this article, I meant the collection of accounts I was managing. That included Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Google business profiles. I wasn’t talking about a portfolio of design work or example posts.
Why I used PromoRepublic
At the time, PromoRepublic brought several parts of the job into one dashboard. I could prepare and schedule posts, use its graphics tools and content library, and keep track of messages and comments.
The main benefit for me was spending less time switching between accounts. The content library also gave me a starting point when I needed to put a post together.
The other tools I used
I used Canva for design, Keysearch for keyword research and Flick for Instagram work. Each had a different job. Having more tools didn’t remove the need to decide what to post, check it and pay attention to the replies.
What I’d check before choosing a tool now
- Does it support the accounts you actually use?
- Can you plan, edit and approve posts in a way that suits how you work?
- Does it help you keep up with messages and comments?
- Can you export your work if you decide to leave?
- Does the current price make sense for the time it saves you?
Features, plans and prices have changed since 2021, so I’ve removed the old prices and comparisons. Check PromoRepublic’s current website if you want to look into it. My experience from 2021 won’t tell you whether it’s the right choice for you today.
What I do now
I’m focusing on practical tutorials and consultancy. I no longer offer ongoing social media management or the old website and SEO packages.
If you’d like help deciding which tools to use or what to tackle next, email me with a little about what you’re trying to do. You can also read about consultancy or try one of my free tutorials.
